The French title translates as The Point Of No Return, which also describes the situation perfectly. The single-minded ruthlessness of left-for-dead gunman Walker would inform many subsequent movies such as Kill Bill and Sexy Beast. Possibly Marvin's greatest performance despite playing a man of few words.
